Opening October 22, 1992, this multipurpose outdoor facility, located in Lorenzi Park, accommodates approximately 500 on the lawn and in the cabana areas. The SDFP includes a 56’X26’ open-air stage, a green room and dressing rooms with all the amenities, a box office and concession building with kitchen. This outdoor amphitheatre, in the Southwest corner of Lorenzi Park, features a large stage, grass and patio seating and commercial kitchen. Art Reach Unit The ArtReach unit is responsible for the coordination of a wide variety of high quality outdoor events and activities at a low cost to the patron. ArtReach facilities include: The Sammy Davis Jr. Festival Plaza in Lorenzi Park and Hills Park in Summerlin. ArtReach events encompass all aspects of the performing arts including concerts, festivals, and workshops. Specialized demonstrations, mini-performances, and lectures are created and taken to a variety of park locations and other facilities including schools and community centers. All ArtReach facilities are available for use by public organizations through rentals or city cosponsorships. Programs include: Pacific Island Festival, Cinco de Mayo Festival, Fiestas Patrias, New Directions YouthArts and the Downtown Cultural Series.
