Into Darkness
Virasat (Heritage)
Mario S. Kiran
March 22-May 6, 2012

My work is camouflaged with images of people I meet and places I have traveled. When we embark on a journey to a foreign land we meet new people, pass small towns and experience new cultures. Very rare do we notice and remember the architecture, clothing / costumes and the spoken language of the small towns that we pass through. As for a plain man like myself, I relate my discoveries in a visual tale that my audiences are free to interpret with their own experiences.

This exhibit will include prints and mixed media constructions.

David Lindsay
June 29-Aug. 30, 2012

"Stuck in the middle of miles and miles of cotton fields, a mud puddle of people and cars. But from the middle of my navel to the top of my head, up and over and down again, the sky arches over my body: forming a personal cathedral painted in blue and white."
Mountains and Valleys without End
Daniel Gottsegen
Sept. 7 - Nov. 22, 2012

Dan Gottsegen is a painter who lives and works in central Vermont. An avid hiker and naturalist his paintings explore his relationship with the landscape and the natural environment. Gottsegen often develops compositions that allow for combining of different moments, in the way that the mind wanders when walking. Much of his earlier work was influenced by his 12-year participation in a study of the raptor (bird of prey) migration in California.
Narratives of Progress
Armin Mühsam
Nov. 30, 2012 - Feb. 7, 2013

"My work focuses on the relationship between the natural and the human-built. I imagine the land after technology has rendered it nearly uninhabitable, despite its promises to create a better world. I paint the absence of humans but not of humanity: man-made, sterile landscapes after the disappearance of the natural."
Exhibit to be determined

Marylou Evans
July 19, 2013 - Sept. 28, 2013

The artwork in this exhibit will explore the concept of layered experiences discovered through the physical layering of paint, paper and mylar, sometimes transparent and sometimes opaque, which can be scraped and sanded through simultaneously revealing and concealing information. At times clear and at other times obscure, the imagery moves in and out of view just as life's experiences move in and out of awareness.
